Solar Farm Access Approved for Manhattan-Arsenal Road

Spread the love

The committee granted access approval for a solar farm development on Manhattan-Arsenal Road approximately 1,000 feet east of Cherry Hill Road.

The MCH Solar 1 project, developed by Soltage LLC, received a special use permit from Will County earlier this year. Because Manhattan-Arsenal Road is designated as a county freeway, any new access points require county board approval.

The solar facility will reuse an existing driveway access point and encompasses approximately 69 acres. The project includes solar panels, electrical equipment, access drives, stormwater management facilities, perimeter fencing, and vegetative buffers.

The approval allows the developer to proceed with obtaining final access permits once all other county requirements are met.
