Trump appeals judge’s Guard order
The Trump administration has appealed a federal judge’s temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction blocking the administration’s deployment of National Guard troops in Illinois.
Judge April Perry granted the state of Illinois and city of Chicago’s request Thursday.
President Donald Trump, cabinet officials and the U.S. Army appealed the decision to the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
ICE fence ordered down in Broadview
U.S. District Court Judge LaShonda Hunt has approved the village of Broadview’s motion for a temporary restraining order requiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to dismantle a fence built outside its Broadview facility.
Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson called the TRO a validation of local law and “a decisive win for public safety.”
Pritzker’s office releases economic report
Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Office of Management and Budget says they remain committed to fiscal responsibility, despite “headwinds imposed by the federal government.”
The office released its annual Economic and Fiscal Policy Report Thursday. The document contains numerous criticisms of federal government actions.
