Lady Blue Devils Narrowly Defeated by Bradley-Bourbonnais Despite Late Rally

The Peotone Lady Blue Devils faced a challenging matchup against Bradley-Bourbonnais, ultimately falling just short in a 52-49 decision. Despite trailing at halftime, Peotone mounted a resilient effort in the second half, outscoring the Boilermakers 29-25 over the final two quarters, but could not fully close the gap.

Bradley-Bourbonnais held a narrow 12-10 lead after the first quarter and extended that margin to 27-20 by halftime. Peotone began to chip away at the lead in the third quarter, winning the frame 13-12, and continued their surge in the fourth with a 16-point outburst. However, the deficit proved just too large to overcome before the final buzzer.

Seniors Peyton Bisping and Addison Brandau anchored the offense, sharing team-high scoring honors with 11 points apiece. Bisping did much of her damage from the perimeter, connecting on three 3-pointers, while Brandau was efficient from the floor, shooting 67 percent.

Senior Madi Schroeder contributed nine points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and freshman Payton Pape added seven points to the effort. While the shots weren’t falling as frequently for junior Callie Weiss, she made her presence felt elsewhere, leading the team with eight rebounds and tying for the team lead with three assists. Olivia Moe also facilitated the offense effectively, matching Weiss with three assists.

As a team, Peotone found success from beyond the arc, draining seven 3-pointers, but struggled to gain an advantage on the interior against Bradley-Bourbonnais.
