The accumulation was driven by a high-intensity event in the evening; data indicates that at 6 p.m., the township received 4.4 inches of snow in just one hour.

Snowfall continued into Sunday, Nov. 30, adding another 2.5 inches to the weekend total. Temperatures on Sunday reached a high of 34 degrees before falling to 14 degrees by 11 p.m.

Residents should remain alert as the winter weather pattern is forecast to persist through the first week of December. A forecast generated Sunday predicts a 100 percent chance of snow for Monday afternoon, Dec. 1, with less than one inch of accumulation expected. A second system is forecast for Tuesday night, Dec. 2, bringing an additional 1 to 3 inches of new snow.

Following these snow events, a severe cold front is expected to descend on the region. Thursday, Dec. 4, is forecast to be sunny but bitter cold, with a daytime high near only 12 degrees. The temperature is expected to plummet further on Friday night, Dec. 5, reaching a low of -5 degrees.
